Nominate a Charity

Are you interested in nominating your favorite charity?

1) Please join WENA by signing the commitment form or make sure you are a current WENA member!

2) Anyone who has signed the WENA commitment form can nominate their favorite local Northern Arizona 501(c)(3)

by filling out this form and turning it in 2-4 WEEKS before the meeting. Emails will be sent to remind everyone when the two week nomination period is open.

The charity up for nomination:
-must serve Northern Arizona
-must have been a 501(c)(3) for at least 2 years
-must be nominated by a WENA member
-must wait 2 years after recieving a previous WENA donation
-must be approved before the meeting by filling out this form at least 2 weeks before the meeting.

Polarizing or divisive nonprofits will not qualify because we require members to write a check at each meeting to the winning charity, whether or not they voted for that nonprofit.

School, churches and faith based nonprofits are not eligible.

Anyone who has signed the WENA commitment form can nominate their favorite local Northern Arizona 501(c)(3) by filling out this form and turning it in 2-4 WEEKS before the meeting. Remember the nominating member must be the one to present the charity at the meeting.

Please gather the information found below from the charity and bring it to the next meeting. During or before the meeting, a WENA member will draw 3 charities from the bowl. If your charity is one of the three charities drawn from the bowl that evening, you will present for 5 minutes about your charity, using the guidelines found below. Then the 100+ WENA members will vote, and the winning organization will receive the money! Our goal is $10,000!

Please remember that we can not guarantee that your favorite non-profit will be ever drawn from the bowl, that you will win the vote, or that you will receive $10,000. Our goal is always $10,000 though!

If your charity is not drawn or voted as the winner that evening, you may continue to nominate your charity until it wins. Once a charity wins, it may not be nominated again for 2 years.

WENA presentation guidelines:

Remember you will only have 5 minutes to discuss these questions. You are welcome to use the questions below as a guideline. It is helpful when presenting to talk about a specific project that the money would be used for.

What is the name of the organization? Where is it located?
Are they a local Northern Arizona recognized 501 (c)(3)? (This is required to be nominated)
How long has it been around?
What is their mission?
How does the organization benefit the local community?
What do they do? How do they do it? Whom do they serve?
How would the funds be used to benefit the community?
What is your relationship to the organization?
Who is responsible for discharging the funds? What are their administrative fees?
